What happens each month

Requirement before starting: you need to have finished the 30-Day Group Program or the Foundation, Walking and Summit Workshops. Before you teach the practice, you do it yourself long enough to understand it and experience the benefits. You do the 30 days in a group: four meetings of an hour, about one a week. A WhatsApp group runs the whole month, so you learn from the questions other people ask as well as your own. We offer the 30-Day Group Program together with the instructor training as a package, at a discounted price.

Month 1: instructor training, on guiding students through the exercise, solving problems as they come up, and keeping students motivated. Four more meetings of an hour, and you learn to teach with the others in your training group. At the end of the month you start teaching your first two students.

Month 2: your first two students, under supervision. Once a week the group meets in the instructor training club, a Zoom meeting to discuss your students and whatever else comes up.

Month 3, included unless you opt out: a first group, a 30-Day Group Program for 5 to 10 people, supported by a senior instructor who can also join one of your sessions by video for a Q&A. It earns your group mark, which you need to run and advertise groups and workshops. The supervision is there so a first group gets off to a good start, whenever you have found one. If you skip it, you can do it later with another training group, already paid for.
How it works
Practice first
Most of your training time goes to teaching. You read the science at your own pace: the mechanisms, the research and the books.
What you give your students
Your students review their practice by feel, with you, and with the app's measurements. The app's zones and scores give you something to base your review on. What you give them is the long-term view: the patterns of progress you see across many students, and what works for different people. From those patterns you learn to recognize strong and weak practice, and the issues that can come up in a student's practice.
You also give them motivation and a personal connection, which strengthens a student's dedication.
Certified by teaching, not by finishing a curriculum
You receive your certificate once you have successfully taught your first two students under supervision. Your group mark follows once you have taught your first group under supervision.
Anyone can start
No prior instructor certification is required. You can make teaching your focus or add it to what you already do: yoga teaching, sports coaching, therapy, or any other field.
Mentorship support
After certification you can ask for help. When a student's case leaves you unsure, we work out an approach for that student together. Once a month, at a fixed time, you can join the other instructors to discuss cases, techniques, and theory.
Your instructor account
Your account includes full Summit Plus access in the app (levels 1–13, all styles and more settings), a listing in the instructor directory if you want one, and teaching materials. There is no annual fee. You pay a fee for each student you teach.
